Purple Bloom
Purple Bloom is an exploration of the transition into womanhood. Through a palette of deep blues and pensive purples, the piece captures the gravity and complexity of coming of age. Two figures, two versions of the same woman, perch upon an ornate floral vessel, caught in the internal shift from girlhood to the multifaceted experience of adulthood.
From a distance, the composition subtly evokes the form of the female anatomy.
The work is an attempt to show balance: a raw, textured backdrop represents the unformed world, contrasted against a delicate, intricate foreground bursting with blooming potential. The vibrant checkered borders symbolize societal expectations—vivid and hopeful, yet restrictive.
Ultimately, Purple Bloom seeks to reconcile the serious weight of maturity with the inherent softness of blossoming, urging the women to listen to their own voice amidst the noise.
